Landscape painter who also worked in watercolour, Paul Lecomte studied under Lambinet and was largely influenced by the Impressionists. Lecomte’s work depicts the landscapes of Normandy and Brittany in particular. He exhibited at the Salon from 1868 and received honourable mentions in 1882 and 1889. Lecomte was awarded a bronze medal in 1888, a silver medal in 1895 and gold in 1900. The museum of Mulhouse’s collection includes a painting entitled Le Pont Neuf. |
