Dominique Fihey was born to Angers in 1946,

He studied in his native city between 1963 and 1968 and in 1971 had his first solo exhibitions in Segré, Maine and Loir. Since this time he has exhibited widely throughout France and in Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, the United States, Martinique and Quebec

In 2005 he opened Atelier de l'Etable in Ariège, where he still exhibits his own work alongside that of other artists.
