Albert Ludovici Junior was the son of Albert Ludovici Senior. Ludovici Junior was a genre painter and landscape painter. Whilst Whistler was President of the Royal Society of British Artists, Ludovici fell under his spell and his paintings show Whistler’s influence. Ludovici’s London scenes are particularly Whistlerian in their delicate impressionistic style. Like his father, Ludovici lived mostly in Paris and his London paintings do in some part reflect the Parisian Boulevard lifestyle of the period. Ludovici exhibited extensively throughout his life, notably at Suffolk Street (147 works), the Royal Academy from 1880 to 1897, the New Watercolour Society, the Grosvenor Galleries and elsewhere. Ludovici was also a member of the International Society of Painters, Sculptors and Engravers.
