Biographical Details

Achille Theodore Cesbron was born at Oran, Algeria in 1849.

A pupil of Bonnat and Corman, Cesbron was a painter of flowers and still lifes. He was a Societaire des Artistes Francais from 1883. In 1882, 1884, 1886, 1889 and 1900, Cesbron was awarded prestigious prizes for his work. In 1898 he was decorated with the Legion d’honneur.

From 1887, Cesbron exhibited at the Paris Salon and in 1884, his painting entitled Metempsychose was bought for the Museum of Angers. Cesbron also collaborated with Georges Jeannin, a famous flower and still-life painter, on a project for painting the panels of the Paris Hotel de Ville
