Paul Michel Dupuy was a French painter of genre and landscape. He was born in Pau (Basses-Pyrenees) on the 22nd of March 1869 and died in Paris in 1949. As well as landscapes he depicted elegant women and children at ease in playful sunny scenes. Dupuy studied under Bonnat and Maignan during the golden age and was made a member of the Society of French Artists in 1899. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais and won medals in 1901 and in 1902. Dupuy gained more awards during his long career, culminating with the Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur in 1933. Works by Dupuy are hanging in the Museum at Reims. |
