19th and 20th century European and British Paintings

Binet was a student of Cormon and Raphael Collin, he exhibited in the Paris Salon from 1889 until 1939 and at l’Exposition Coloniale in 1906. He gained an honourable mention in 1899, a third-class medal in 1904, a second class medal in 1912 and was made Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur in 1937.

He found inspiration in the great 19^th century impressionists, and in the atmosphere of the Seine and its estuary. He is noted for his depictions of coast and marshland, and the flowers of his native Normandy.
